The ultimate drinks reception
Your guests will welcome you as newlyweds to our sumptuous Rose Garden where you can host your champagne reception with your chosen vintage and perhaps a favourite of Lady Hertford’s – a Ragley ‘French 75 cocktail’ made with a measure of Tanqueray Ten Gin, sugar syrup and lemon juice over ice, topped with champagne.
Our choice of caterers can provide the perfect canapés from a Japanese Beef Skewer served with Wasabi Mayo to a Mini Lobster Pizza with Wild Rocket and Truffle Oil, whilst you take in the impeccable scenery and enjoy live music on the terrace.
Our interior drinks reception venues offer you and your guests the chance to enjoy the enchanting family history of the Hall. Our hand-painted mural “The Temptation”, created over 14 years, embodies an array of unique stories and anecdotes, sure to get conversation buzzing. With its vibrant display of tropical foliage, exotic animals and painted cherubs, it’s very easy to lose yourself in the eccentric illustrations of this mural, but our welcoming guides are on hand to show your guests the smaller details and personal quirks of this truly unique artistic piece.
Leading on to relax in Lord Hertford’s favourite room, the Green Drawing Room, with original Chinese Chippendale mirrors and an Italian marble fireplace, sister pieces to those in the Wallace Collection in London adorn the textured walls of the room, once the favoured party venue for the Hertford family.
Next you will step into the dramatic and opulent Red Saloon with our iconic Bohemian lead crystal chandelier gifted to the house by the 8th Marchioness of Hertford, the Princess de Chimay of Belgium. A perfect setting for the end of your drinks reception, where lovingly-designed table plans can frame the entrance to the Great Hall, as guests gather for the grand reveal of the baroque and rococo setting of The Great Hall, where they will enjoy a banquet in unparalleled surroundings.
