A trusted Warwickshire filming venue
Over many years, Ragley has built a reputation as a valued and versatile location for film, TV and photography shoots. The estate provides opportunities to recreate period settings, and to take advantage of the breadth of creative locations that the whole estate has to offer. This is backed up with a proactive and flexible attitude to facilitating filming and photographic projects, working closely with production teams to ensure the smooth running of location shoots, whilst providing a range of practical facilities.
Over the years, Ragley Estate has been selected for a variety of filming projects, including the Netflix drama series The Crown, in which the first episode of season four began with Ragley’s Great Hall as the backdrop for the first encounter between Charles and Diana. The Hall can also be seen again, in episode 3 of the series, in which Ragley’s Vaulted Hallway received a dramatic makeover, transforming the space in to the environment of a Buckingham Palace Kitchen.
Other projects have varied from from a stately setting for The Scarlett Pimpernel starring Ian McKellen to mirroring The Palace of Versailles in a two-episode arc in Doctor Who, which saw the Estate welcome David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor. Ragley also became the home of Lady Cremone in BBC Two Drama Dancing on The Edge, one of many visits by BBC teams to film on the Estate.
Ragley Hall, in all its decorative splendour has also been selected for fashion and product photography projects – from Dior catwalk shows in the 1950s to modern catalogue shoots for brands such as Schoffel Country. Connections with locally-based businesses have also provided opportunities for filming in the hall – most recently by The Royal Shakespeare Company for social media reels and promotions. The park is equally in demand, as seen when Morris Commercial needed some private roads to film a review of their electric van for YouTube.
