The Game Fair
The annual gathering for people passionate about countryside pursuits promises to be a tremendous celebration of fieldsports and country life. It’s a showcase of the countryside’s heritage, its present and its future. Visitors can expect a packed schedule of displays and exhibitions ranging from traditional country sports like shooting, fishing and falconry to the latest in rural innovation and technology.
Competitions for gundogs and shooting such as The Gundog International and Game Fair 50 bird Sporting make a great spectacle, but there are opportunities to try clay shooting, fly fishing, coarse fishing, fly tying and you can even bring your dog to enter one of our have-a-go competitions – Bale jumping, Open, Scramble, the Novice and Junior Scurry, as well as BASC’s own Scurry competitions.
If a bit of retail therapy is needed, you can browse and shop from hundreds of exhibitor and trade stands. From bespoke countryside attire and artisan crafts to the latest outdoor gear and equipment, shopping enthusiasts will find plenty to explore and take home. It’s a perfect opportunity to find unique items and gifts that embody the spirit of the countryside.
The Game Fair attracts thousands of visitors wishing to camp in order to make the most of the weekend, and this year they have introduced the Caravan and Motorhome Club as hosts for a pop-up campsite at the event. With pitches starting from £50 a night at the event, camping visitors can enjoy a three or five night stay on a 10m x 10m pitch for their caravan, motorhome, roof tent or campervan. The 1,300 grass pitches are available with or without electric hookup and there will be a shuttle service from the campsite to the main show entrance, so you’re never far from the action, plus dogs are welcome too.
