Behind the Scenes Support
Filming or shooting on location takes a lot of detailed planning, and the facilities available behind the scenes make all the difference to the successful management of a project. The team at Ragley have played host to many production companies and creative teams – providing personal support and dedicated facilities.
The events team have many years of events management experience, with the added bonus of previous roles in fashion photography. They are on hand – right from the initial enquiry to show you around the estate, to help you find the location you have in mind. They will work with location and production managers to sort every last detail – such as clearing rooms of furniture or artwork ready for designers to dress the set, advising on transport, access and site logistics, prop storage and much more. Throughout the shoot, they will be discretely available for anything that crops up, but they also understand the need to stay behind the scenes and let you keep to your schedule.
Ragley Hall and park is a private and exclusive venue, so everything can be planned knowing you have security and complete privacy, with respect for embargoes and restricted access to sets, cast or content as required – without members of the public on site.
Ragley sits within a golden triangle of motorways – the M5, M42 and M40 – making access from all areas very convenient. There are multiple entrance gates to the park, set up for HGVs and large volumes of traffic, so all sorts of complicated logistics for moving equipment and people are easily accommodated.
There are several spacious areas within Ragley Hall that can be re-purposed as green rooms, or costume spaces. Our dedicated bridal dressing room is a brightly lit private space, ideal for hair and make-up to be set up for the duration of your shoot, and there are also toilets nearby in the Hall.
For outside or larger-scale shoots, we have a separate space for you to set up your production village. Known as The Boneyard, this comprises a spacious hard-standing area, suitable for trailers and catering vehicles, plus staff parking away from the set. There is also a large permanent marquee with mains power and water which can be used as a site office or a canteen and rest area – and benefits from a nearby toilet block. It’s also a useful space for props storage. Walking to the Hall is a short stroll or a 1 minute transfer by vehicle, and other areas of the estate are easily accessible through our network of drives or the surrounding country roads.
Nearby is Hillers Farm Shop and our own Ragley Estate Butchers – selling take-away sandwiches, teas and coffees, and there is also a restaurant. The Arrow Mill pub is directly opposite the hall, and the small market town of Alcester is also very nearby, with a range of shops, pubs and places to eat, along with a Waitrose supermarket. Our team can also advise on places to stay locally.
